Each year, The Dahlia Hill Society of Midland has a Dahlia tuber sale. One thing we know for sure is that tubers purchased at Dahlia Hill have been carefully and expertly taken care of all winter since harvesting last fall.

The tuber sale this year is May 24 and May 31 (10:00 – 4:00) so there is still time to catch the sale this coming Saturday.

Tubers

Dahlia Tubers

Whether your a complete novice or have been growing Dahlias in your own yard for years, the volunteers at Dahlia Hill make it enjoyable and easy. They will help you select tubers and offer simple instructions for planting — now is the time! And, if you love selection and color, you’ll find yourself in the right place. The sale has well over 100 varieties and types of tubers available.

If you have some space in your yard, it may be worth the trip and worth it to give them a try. They are only $2 each or 6 for $10 — very inexpensive for such a beautiful flowering plant that delivers long-lasting color to your yard. Most Dahlia plants grow to be 2′ – 4.5′ tall, depending on the type of tuber.

Yes, we have a soft spot for Dahlia Hill. We were fortunate to be the landscape contractor for the Hill’s recent renovation.  Enjoy this article and this video to learn more about this one-of-a-kind project![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
